Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan.

Sunday afternoons are generally reserved for brunch date’s with Ainsley.  We check out a new restaurant and discover something new in the city.  I love this new found tradition of ours — experiencing something new about each other, talking about life, sharing stories with her when I was a little girl, what’s new with her, ideas she has, special plans we make for loved ones in our lives, feelings we share beautifully, mostly, it’s a time we can talk about anything and everything.

It’s amazing.

When I take a moment to think about International Women’s day today, I now think of these Sundays and every Mother, Daughter + Grandmother.  My Mother, your Mother, my Grandmother, your Grandmother and all the Women of this world who consistently take “just a moment” to show us profound love, respect, support, faith, encouragement, fearlessness, truth, champion our causes, nurture us and do this time and time again and pass this on to our children and grandchildren.

For me, this is our world’s greatest cultural treasure and tradition.

We’re all blessed.  Happy International Women’s Day!

Making Thinking Exhibit Cont’d | Curatorial Statement:

Making goes beyond virtuosity, skill and material investigation. Physical practice generates ideas and context, which in turn inform the act of creating. The reciprocal relationship between making and thinking, thinking and making, forms the autonomous, individual perspective evident in each of the works presented in this exhibition.

Saw this at the harbourfront the other day, it coincided with some thought-provoking and insightful statements from Executive Creative Director, John C Jay’s Lessons for Designers

Constantly improve your craft.  Make things with your hands. Innovation in thinking is not enough.
